International accountability

Australia is not acting in isolation. There is a complex web of international politics and policy that is shaping the low carbon world and civil economy that is emerging around us.

We seek to ensure that the policies and action Australia puts in place will maximise our national opportunities, while also building more ambitious global action.

Educating business, political and community leaders about the extent of international action and risks of Australia being left behind is therefore imperative.

We undertake regular strategic projects that examine and report on Australia’s performance, and opportunities to deliver, in relation to international obligations, such as those in the Paris Agreement, as well as against the actions being taken by other countries.

Australia has a critical role to play in building a net zero emissions global economy, so we continue to search for ways to ensure it does so.

Making a strong economic case for climate action is a key focus of our work.
We seek to maximise our national opportunities, while also building more ambitious global action.
Our strategic priorities: economic transformation, international accountability and societal leadership.
